Mon., March 6, 2006Clement F. EAGLE, 87, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at M. L. McCreedy Home following a lengthy illness.
A service was held this morning at Saint James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ed O’Melia officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Richmond.

Mr. EAGLE was born May 14, 1918, in Richmond, the son of Frank and Gertrude Lintz EAGLE. He married Katherine HENRY May 30, 1939, at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain.
Mr. EAGLE attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Richmond. He farmed in Jefferson and Washington counties until moving to Washington in 1962. He then helped build the Nixon Feed Plant and worked there until retiring in 1980.
Mr. EAGLE was a member of Saint James Catholic Church in Washington. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and the Foresters.
He enjoyed gardening, watching Chicago Cubs baseball games and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife; six children, Mary PULIDO and husband Ed of Davenport, John EAGLE and wife Deanna of Ainsworth, Stephen EAGLE and wife Fran of Washington, Iowa, Susan HOLCOMB and husband Charles of Johnston, Paulette JONES and husband Everett of Bettendorf, and Joe EAGLE and wife Jeane of Marion; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 23 stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary LAHR of Iowa City and Lavina MASSON of Green Valley, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Herman EAGLE; and three sisters, Vera EAGLE, Viola RYAN and Loretta DONOHUE.
