HUMMELL, Corey A. -- Corey A. HUMMELL, 37, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, from injuries sustained in a fire at his home.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with the Revs. Joe Forest and Bob Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Corey HUMMELL Memorial, which will be used for the family's benefit.

HUMMELL, Corey A. -- Corey A. HUMMELL, 37, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, from injuries sustained in a fire at his home.

Mr. HUMMELL was born Nov. 19, 1969, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Kenneth "Red" and Connie BAIN HUMMELL. He married Melissa HIRSCHY Nov. 6, 1993, at Trenton Missionary Church.

Mr. HUMMELL was a 1988 graduate of Mount Pleasant Community High School. He attended Southeastern Community College and Hamilton Technical College. He initially worked at Sirloin Stockade and later was employed at Hy-Vee Bakery. Most recently, he worked in the meat department at Dave's Foods.

He enjoyed all sports, having played football in high school and bowled on two leagues. As part of bowling, he was on the 2004-2005 All Star Team and had served on the Mount Pleasant Men's Association Board of Directors. He had coached the ASA Ballistic girls' softball team.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Nikole HUMMELL, Hallie HUMMELL and Kelsey HUMMELL, all of Mount Pleasant; his parents of Mount Pleasant; one grandmother, Ruth BAIN; and an aunt in Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Greg HUMMELL.
