Ruth Margarite Hale Hilleary, 94, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007.
A memorial service will be held in the future.

Mrs. Hilleary was born Sept. 3, 1912, in Burlington. She married Julius Lawson Hilleary June 17,1929. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hilleary spent her childhood in Fort Madison. She moved to Fairfield after marrying and remained there her entire adult life. She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed reading and sewing. She was a member of the Jefferson County Genealogy Society and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include five children, Shirley Dee Strathman and husband Paul of Mason City, James Hilleary and wife Jackie Darr of Placentia, Calif., Joy Curtis and husband Bruce of East Lansing, Mich., Jack Hilleary and wife Paula of La Selva Beach, Calif., and Morris Hilleary of Palm Springs, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Hale; one sister, Lucille Hale Bates; and one daughter-in-law, Sheila Noonan Hilleary.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. Inurnment will follow in Long Creek Cemetery in Danville.
