FEDLER, Delores -- Delores FEDLER, 82, of Fort Madison, formerly of West Point, died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, with the Rev. Apo T. Mpanda officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
Visitation began at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Daughters of Isabella Rosary at 3 p.m. and a Christian Wake service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, The Kensington in Fort Madison or Lee County Hospice.
Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. FEDLER was born Nov. 11, 1924, in St. Paul, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Sadie MENKE SPIEKERMEIER. She married Edmund FEDLER Feb. 8, 1943, in West Point.
Mrs. FEDLER and her husband operated the Pointer Inn.
Mrs. FEDLER was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point and the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She also was a member of St. Ann Circle Daughters of Isabella, a past president of West Point Senior Citizens, a past 4-H leader and a member of Farm Bureau Women.
Survivors include her husband of The Kensington in Fort Madison; six sons, Mark FEDLER and wife Barb of Danville, Steve FEDLER and wife Pam of Des Moines, John FEDLER and wife Gina of Revenna, Ohio, Charles FEDLER and wife Kim of Fort Wayne, Ind., Ed FEDLER Jr. of Athens, Greece, and Tim FEDLER and wife Shari of Macomb, Mich.; eight daughters, Connie FERRELL and husband Glenn of Fairfield, Pat BECKER and husband Gerald of Davenport, Kathy HEDGER and husband Lee of Fort Madison, Christine OLSON and husband Tom of Sherman, Texas, Mary SHANNAN and husband Kirk of Stockport, Agnes ANDERSON and husband Bob of Donnellson, Susan GELESTHORPE of Donnellson and Lori HUMPHREY and husband Brian of South Sioux City, Neb.; 29 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth GROSSMAN of Denmark, Iowa, and Jeanette BERGTHOLD of Blue Grass.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ted; one brother, Orville SPIEKERMEIER; one sister, Irene LESSENGER; and one grandson.
