CARTER, Marvin M. -- Marvin M. CARTER, 77, of Ollie, died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2007, at Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.
Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

CARTER, Marvin M. -- Marvin M. CARTER, 77, of Ollie, died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2007, at Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Shirley Hoffman-Will officiating. Burial in Ollie Cemetery will be at a later time.
Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 6:30-8 p.m.
Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or sent to PO Box 144, Birmingham 52535.
Mr. CARTER was born March 15, 1930, in Ollie, the son of Alva J. and Loletta ESTES CARTER.
Mr. CARTER grew up in Ollie and graduated from Ollie High School in 1948. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Chicago and later for Fairfield Aluminum Castings Co. in Fairfield until he retired in 1993.
Mr. CARTER was a member of American Legion Post No. 504.
Survivors include two sisters, Madeline MARSHALL of Ottumwa and Shirley CRAFTON of Birmingham and two brothers, Robert CARTER of Ollie and Dean CARTER of Hayesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
