BURNS, Edith G. -- Edith G. BURNS, 92, of Milton, died at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Davis County Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Bloomfield.
Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

BURNS, Edith G. -- Edith G. BURNS, of Milton, died at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, in the Davis County Hospital long term care unit in Bloomfield.
A service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church in Milton, with the Rev. Beryl Cragg and the Rev. Byron Wixom officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Open visitation will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.
Memorials to Grace United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 16798 Route V64, Douds 52551.
Mrs. BURNS was born Oct. 20, 1914, near Milton, the daughter of Walter K. and Iva N. WILSON. She married Bernard M. BURNS May 25, 1936, in Burlington. He died June 25, 1962.
Mrs. BURNS graduated from Milton High School in 1932. She attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant and graduated magna cum laude from Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville in 1973. She taught at Fox Valley School in Cantril and in Hurdland and Novelty, Mo., schools. She retired to Milton in 1985.
Mrs. BURNS was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Milton. She was a past president and past district officer of United Methodist Women. She was a 54-year member of PEO Chapter AD in Milton and had been a 4-H leader and member of Parent-Teachers Association.
She enjoyed spending time at home, spending time with family and friends and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, William BURNS and wife Judy of Morris, Ill., and David BURNS and wife Debbie of Pulaski; two daughters, Marilyn HARRYMAN and husband Merlin of Douds and Bonnie KERNS and husband Junior of Las Cruces, N.M.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen FERGE and Florence ATWOOD; and one brother, Ralph WILSON.
