Virginia W. BROSSEIT -- Virginia W. BROSSEIT, age 86, of Janesville, WI, died on Wed., Feb. 28, 2007, at Cedar Crest.

She was born in Brighton, IA on Aug. 19, 1920, the daughter of Raymond and Bertha (WOODWORTH) SPIELMAN. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1937, and Parsons College, Fairfield, IA and later Northeastern Illinois University of Chicago. Virginia married Chester BROSSEIT on October 4, 1942, in Maywood, IL and he preceded her in death in 1977. She had been a Des Plaines, IL resident most of her adult life until she moved to Janesville in 2000. She had been employed as an Elementary School Teacher and was a member of First Methodist Church of Beloit. She was an accomplished author with numerous published children's stories, college text books and a children's book based loosely on her childhood home "The Secret Friendship."

She is survived by her 4 children: David (Dorothy) BROSSEIT of St. Germain, WI, Louise (David) POKLADOWSKI of Yorba Linda, CA, James (Bonnie) BROSSEIT of Bullhead City, AZ and Anne BURGER of South Beloit, IL; 4 grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Tom and Dylan; 3 step granddaughters: Linda, Diana and Karen; 1 great grandchild, Michael II; and 1 brother, John (Sally) SPIELMAN of Cedar Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Harvey.
