Tues., Dec. 5, 2006, p. 8.Gene L. COLEMAN, 75, of Fairfield, died Saturday Dec. 2, 2006, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 16 at Behner Funeral home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating.
Family visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Dec. 16 at the funeral home.

Mr. COLEMAN was born July 2, 1931, in Salem, the son of Stephen E. and Iva E. Young COLEMAN. He married Velma DROZ May 15, 1966. They later divorced.
Mr. COLEMAN lived most of this life in Van Buren County, living 29 years in Birmingham.
Mr. COLEMAN was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a farmer and was employed at Chain and Cable and Fairfield Lumber. He also mowed yards.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include three children, Dena HEADLEY and husband Dave of Batavia, Jeri Lynn ROWLAND of Fairfield and Bobi Jean GARDNER of Katy, Texas; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Kenneth W. COLEMAN of Farmington and Gary H. COLEMAN of Fairfield; and two sisters, Mary Ellen HARWOOD of Hot Springs Village, Ariz., and Darla A. CASADY of Cantril.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Leslie L., Keith E., Charles D. and Marvin W. COLEMAN.
