Mon., Oct. 2, 2006, p. 10.The Rev. Donald Clifford WRIGHT, 75, of Creston, formerly of Douds, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Greater Regional Medical Center.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Creston. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Douds.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorials may be made to Awana Clubs and mailed to the family at 1207 N. Cherry St., Creston 50801.

Mr. WRIGHT was born Dec. 3, 1930, near Woodburn, the son of Willard Clayton and Mildred Lucille King WRIGHT. He married Winifred VAN BOENING June 23, 1951, in Venango, Neb.
Mr. WRIGHT attended rural elementary schools in Clarke County and graduated from Woodburn High School in 1949. He graduated from Omaha Bible Institute in 1952 and was ordained in 1954 in Branson, Mo. He was a pastor at churches in Arkansas, Nebraska and Iowa, including Zion Bible Church in Douds. He also worked with youth as a camp director, starting Awana ministries in five churches. He was involved in building the Freedom Bible Camp in Chariton and later was camp director. In 1968, he was involved in a mission trip to Haiti, and in 1985, missionary building became his full-time ministry, along with pulpit supply in various churches. Some of his building projects include Dog Lake Canada Conference Center, New Tribes Mission, Calvary Bible College and Rio Grand Bible Institute.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Sharie LEAZER and husband Jerry of Fairfield, Joy DAGE and husband Jerry of Sergeant Bluff, Betsy WRIGHT of Creston and Becky ENGLAND and husband Scott of Jackson, Mich.; four brothers, Jim WRIGHT of Central City, Neb., Richard WRIGHT of St. Charles, Minn., Virgil WRIGHT of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Paul WRIGHT of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Rosalee MCKIMPSON of Branson, Mo., Dorothy NELSON of Canyon City, Colo., Marjorie CORDING of Clinton, Mont., and Bonnie FREEZE of Clark, S.D.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
