Aletha WILSON , 88, formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at Mitchellville Care Center in Mitchellville.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated.

Donations in her memory may be made to the donor’s choice.

Mrs. WILSON was born Dec. 19, 1917, in Moline, Ill., the daughter of William George and Maggie Darnil WILLIAMS. She married Bernard WILSON Aug. 17, 1935, in Memphis, Mo. He died in November 1998.

Mrs. WILSON had been a resident of the Fairfield community for more than 72 years. She was employed at Jefferson County Hospital in the laundry before her retirement.

Survivors include four children, Bernard WILSON of Newton, Shirlane SMITH, of Hedrick, George WILSON of Colfax and Tom WILSON of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
