Marjorie M. WHITHAM, formerly of Fairfield, died at 9:52 a.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006, in Madrid, Iowa.

Marjorie Maxine WHITHAM, 80, of Madrid, Iowa, formerly of Fairfield, died at 9:52 a.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Madrid Home in Madrid.

A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Madrid Nursing Home and Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. WHITHAM was born Sept. 8, 1925, near Wayland, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Manning LYONS. She married Charles Finley WHITHAM Dec. 30, 1943, in Memphis, Mo. He died Aug. 28, 2005.

Mrs. WHITHAM was a graduate of Fairfield High School. She was a homemaker and resident of Fairfield most of her life until moving to Independent Apartments of Madrid Home Dec. 5, 2005.

Mrs. WHITHAM was a member of Suburban Heights Baptist Church in Fairfield and Center Township Homemakers.

She enjoyed reading and doing crafts and other handy works.

Survivors include one son, Robert R. WHITHAM and wife Patti of Madrid; one daughter, Laura Kay RUBY of Redding, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sharon Kay BISHOP of Knoxville, Tenn.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Richard Lee WHITHAM; one sister, Donna LYONS; and one brother, Larry LYONS.
