H. L. “Le” RITZ, 92, formerly of Douds, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

H. Le. RITZ, 92, of Fairfield, formerly of the Douds and Selma area, died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Leando Cemetery in Douds, with the Rev. Len Garrison officiating.

Open visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with family present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to Nelson Nursing Home may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 29795 East Erie Road, Albion, MI 49224.

Mr. RITZ was born Nov. 9, 1913, near Selma, the son of John U. and Dora LeFever RITZ. He married Marjorie B. SNELLING Sept. 9, 1939. She died Jan. 18, 1966.

Mr. RITZ spent most of his life in the Douds and Selma area where he farmed and operated a trucking business. He also lived in Cantril for several years and moved to Nelson Nursing Home in 2002.

Survivors include five sons, Jack RITZ and wife Linda of Fairfield, Denis RITZ and wife Ila of Douds, Joseph and Robert RITZ of Ottumwa and Van RITZ and wife Doris of Albion, Mich.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Esther BECK of Knoxville and Inez HOLLAND of Boise, Idaho.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son; four brothers, Ira, Rex, Philip and Allan RITZ; one sister, Ruth AVON; and one grandson.
