Thurs., Sept., 14, 2006, p. 10.Richard Ward “Dick” PULLUM, D.O., 79, retired radiologist, died August 8, 2006 in Goddard, Kansas. A memorial service was held August 14, 2006 at Goddard United Methodist Church.
He was born July 24, 1927 in West Palm Beach, Florida son of Byrd and Nettie Mae PULLUM. He was raised a Baptist. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.
He received a degree from National College of Chiropractics in Chicago. Pre-med education was completed at Palm Beach Jr. College, Georgia Institute of Technology, and University of Miami. He received his D. O. degree from Des Moines Still College of Osteopathy and Surgery in 1957. During his radiology residency in Des Moines, Iowa, he married Linda PEEBLER June 28, 1959 in Batavia, Iowa. He also trained in nuclear radiology, neuroradiology, and CT scan.
He practiced radiology in Florida, Texas, and Kansas before doing locum tenens radiology from 1985 until his retirement in 1992. He then devoted his time to family and building and restoring airplanes.
Preceded in death by brothers: Harry and Dr. Byrd PULLUM, and sisters: Ethel in infancy and Reese RINEHART.
Survivors: wife Linda; son Kevin W. of Goddard; daughters, Erin Lynn PULLUM of Wichita, Allison KIDWELL of Goddard; sister-in-law Genevieve PULLUM of Dothan, Ala.; niece Wayna GERHARDT of Southern Shores, NC; grandchildren Ashley, Caylee, and Bryce KIDWELL, Alec and Kira PULLUM.
Memorials established with the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Kansas Food Bank.
