Charlotte Beatrice NICHOLS, 89, formerly of Fairfield, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery near Bentonsport.

Open visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter may be sent in care of 812 Franklin St., Keosauqua 52565.

Behner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent via www.behnerfh.com.

Ms. NICHOLS was born Oct. 27, 1916, in Bentonsport, the daughter of Millard F. and Ella Dell Runyon NICHOLS.

Ms. NICHOLS was a factory worker at J & B Plastics in Fairfield.

She was affiliated with the Methodist church.

Ms. NICHOLS was partial to animals and had a green thumb for gardening.

Survivors include two sisters, Lena HUGHES and Leota ETKA, both of Keosauqua, and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Myrtle FRANK and Minnie WALLACE; and two brothers, Everett NICHOLS and
