Fri., Nov. 10, 2006, p. 10.Faith Evangeline LILLYBLADE, 81, of Mount Pleasant, died early Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at her residence.
A graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery in rural Lockridge, with the Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating.
Open visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Weir and Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
Ms. LILLYBLADE was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Lockridge, the daughter of Oscar Fredrick and Emma Patience Hueston LILLYBLADE.
Ms. LILLYBLADE graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1944. She then worked in the Fairfield Glove Factory. During the last stages of World War II, she moved to Detroit and assembled aircraft wings for B29 and B39 bombers at the Hudson Motor Car Company Plant. After the war, she returned to southeast Iowa and made her home in Burlington. While in Burlington, she graduated from a beauty school and worked in a beauty shop. She then went to work at National Research in Burlington. She then worked in production for Sylvania Electric Company in Burlington until it closed. After retiring, she moved to Mount Pleasant.
Ms. LILLYBLADE was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Mount Pleasant. She was a longtime Pen Pal, writing letters and holiday and birthday greetings.
Survivors include two sisters, Anna May PIATT of Mount Pleasant and Hope BAILEY of Mobile, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Rosellen PETERS and Edith WIGGINS.
