Tues., May 2, 2006, p. 8.M. Lucille COX, 99, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Open visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. COX was born Oct. 9, 1906, in Fairfield, the daughter of Samuel and Amelia Leafgreen DAVIDSON. She married A. Dale COX Oct. 23, 1937, in Washington, Iowa. He died Feb. 6, 2002.
Mrs. COX lived in the Birmingham and Fairfield area her entire life. She was first employed as a telephone operator in Mount Pleasant and at the Fairfield Glove Factory. She was the head cook at Fairfield High School and later at Parsons College from where she retired.
Mrs. COX was a member of Free Methodist Church in Birmingham.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans, attending the Bluegrass Festival in Drakesville, playing the piano and organ by ear and sight-seeing.
Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn DAVIDSON and husband Everett of Birmingham; three granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth; and one grandson.
