Carlys J. CRILE, 81, of the Trenton community, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at his home.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Forest Home Cemetery chapel, with the Rev. Jim Van Winkle officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Voice of the Retarded.

Mr. CRILE was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Henry County, the son of Benjamin and Anna Burger CRILE. He married Darlene M. SCHANTZ Aug. 5, 1945, at the home of her parents in rural Washington County.

Mr. CRILE attended Starr School, west of Trenton. He served in the U.S. Army. He raised cattle and had farmed in the Trenton area for more than 60 years.

He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and Henry County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include six children, Janice BAUMANN and husband Larry of Waterloo, Bennett CRILE and wife Judy of Mount Pleasant, Bradley CRILE and wife Jill of Wayland and Dennis, Marlin and Curtis, all of Glenwood; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Ina RICH of Wayland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one sister Lola BAIN; and two brothers, Delmar and Kenneth.
