Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, pg. 10.Roy L. CRAFTON, 88, of LeClaire, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus in Davenport.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial with military honors will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. CRAFTON was born May 17, 1918, in Stockport, the son of Walter and Bertha Pickrel CRAFTON. He married Mary L. STEWART Jan. 26, 1957, in Davenport.
Mr. CRAFTON served in the US. Army during World War II as a surgical technician. He was honorably discharged in June of 1945.
Mr. CRAFTON had owned and operated a clothing store in Fairfield until 1956. He retired from Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Company in 1988 after 17 years of employment.
He was a member of the Isaac Walton League and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 828 of Davenport.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and constructing wooden whirligigs.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Connie ECHEVARRIA of Mesa, Ariz.; one son, Steven CRAFTON of Mesa; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mildred BROWN of Burlington, Marjorie JARMS of Fairfield, Idora CRAFTON of Keosauqua and Marilyn RATTIG of Weaver; and one brother, Leonard CRAFTON of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; one sister; and four brothers.
