Donna Vancine BROWN, 95, of Keosauqua, formerly of Birmingham, died at 3:15 a.m. today, Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

A funeral is scheduled for 10:20 a.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham. Interment will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.

Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqu.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

Mrs. BROWN was born Sept. 17, 1911, in Lebanon, Iowa, the daughter of Vance Vactor and Gladys Violet Koonts WILSON. She married Ira Lee BROWN Feb. 14, 1937, at Lebanon Methodist Church. He died Jan. 3, 1995.

Mrs. BROWN grew up and lived in the Lebanon community until her marriage. She lived in Stockport for four years, returned to the Lebanon community for six years, then lived in Birmingham for 39 years until moving to Fairfield in 1984. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Good Samaritan Center in 1999.

Mrs. BROWN graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1930. She taught at a school north of Lebanon. She also taught Sunday school for many years.

Mrs. BROWN was a member of Birmingham United Methodist Church and a charter member of both the Jefferson County and Van Buren County genealogical societies. She was a member of Keep Young Club and Friendly Folks Club at Birmingham.

Survivors include one stepson, Dwight “Bud” BROWN of Clive; three stepgrandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister in infancy, Mariam Lavon WILSON; one brother, Kenneth WILSON; and one step-daughter, Ruth COLBY.
