Mrs. Chris (Emma AUGUST) JOHNSON died yesterday afternoon at her home near Beckwith. Burial at Salina. Member New Sweden Lutheran Church.

Born Mar. 31, 1864, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John AUGUST, and her entire life was spent in Jefferson County. Married Sept. 6, 1883. Nine children, two died in infancy.

Living: Mrs. Minnie JOHNSON of Mediapolis; Mrs. Vada JOHNSON of Four Corners; Mrs. Lorence QUICK of Salina; Ralph of Fairfield; Elmer who lives on the home farm, and Valeda and Effie at home; also two sisters and a brother, Albert AUGUST and Amelia LUNDQUIST of Fairfield and Lizzie KINZIE of Pasadena, Calif..
