From “Hiram Heaton’s Scrap Book”:

JULY 1907. Mrs. Ida VEBURG SCHNERINGER died in Nebr. She was born and reared at Glendale. Her brother, Gus VEBURG, served in Co. E, Second Iowa, in the Civil War. Her son, Carl SCHNERINGER, served in a Nebraska regiment in the Philippines, and her father-in-law, Fred SCHNERINGER, who was a pioneer of this county and lies buried at Lockridge, served under Napoleon, was taken prisoner in battle by the British and made to enter the ranks of the Duke of Wellington.
