Wed., Apr. 24, 1907, 3-2.FOUR CORNERS, Iowa, Apr. 22..... John STEPHENSON, an aged man of near this place, died at his home last Wednesday..... Remains taken to the M. E. cemetery for burial.

Wed., Apr. 24, 1907, 3-2.LOCKRIDGE--The largest funeral in the history of Lockridge was held today as a last honor to John Stevenson..... a farmer who had resided in this vicinity for 60 years and numbered his friends by the hundreds. A great crowd turned out to attend the services. The cortege was led by the hearse drawn by four horses and followed by the carriages of the mourners. The procession was very imposing.

Apr. 24, 1907.OLDEST RESIDENT OF LOCKRIDGE. John STEPHENSON.....Born in England Aug. 21, 1833. Came to America as a child of four, and became a resident of Lockridge township with his father’s family in 1842; married Mathilda DANIELSON, daughter of the pioneer Swedish settler of Iowa, Dec. 1, 1855. Four children, three living--Mrs. A. M. HILLMAN, George and Effie STEPHENSON of Lockridge township. The sole survivor of his father’s family is Robert Stephenson of this city.
