MRS. SARAH CASTILE PASSED AWAY TODAY

One of the older residents of Fairfield, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth CASTILE passed away this morning at ten o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Oscar LARSON, having reached the ripe old age of ninety-one years.

Sarah Elizabeth ANDERSON was born in Kisa, Sweden, July 8, 1824 where she resided until 1845. She reached Jefferson county Sept. 13th. For many years this family lived near Salina and many were the friends that were made by this good woman. On Sept. 30, 1849, at Fairfield she was united in marriage to Andrew CASTILE, who passed away Oct. 27, 1896. To this union were born twelve children, six of them having preceded her in death, and the following who are living: Andrew and John CASTILE of York, Neb., Isaac CASTILE of Prairie Grove, Ark, R.L. CASTILE of Oxford, Neb., and Mrs. Oscar LARSON and G.A. CASTILE of this city.

In 1849 she united with the Swedish M.E. church at New Sweden and throughout her life has closely following the teachings. Many friends will extend their sympathy to the sorrowing family in the death of their devoted mother.

No arrangements have as yet been made for the funeral.
