J. F. BENNETT IS DEAD; LONG ILL
Passed Away At Hospital Last Night and Funeral Held Tomorrow

J. F. BENNETT, 507 North Fourth street, died last night at the Jefferson County hospital after a long illness. He was taken to the hospital Monday for treatment.

Funeral services will be held at the Butler Funeral Home tomorrow morning at 10 oclock and will be in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly, pastor of the Christian church. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery and the services at the grave will be in charge of the Odd Fellows.

He was born December 20, 1851.

Besides the wife he is survived by three sons, Will of Burlington, George of Des Moines and Harry of this city.

FUNERAL RITES OF J. F. BENNETT
Rev. Polly In Charge and Interment Was made At Evergreen Cemetery

The last rites of J. F. BENENTT, who passed away Tuesday evening after a lingering illness, were held this morning at 10 oclock from the Butler Funeral home in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly.

The pall bearers were, Charles Carter, A. V. Frazey, J. F. Blackford, Wilbur Dole, Floyd McQuiston and Dr. B. C. Sayers. Miss Mary Stever and Mrs Norvel Switzer sang "Beautiful Isle" and "My Father Knows"

The services at the grave, which was in Evergreen, were in charge of the Odd Fellows.

Will BENNETT of Burlington was present for the funeral but the other son from out of town, George of Des Moines, was confined to his bed and so unable to come.

Jacob was married a third time, to Joanna FELL SMITH (widow of Zachary Taylor SMITH buried in Wright Cemetery); she died Jan. 8, 1934, and is buried in Kanabec Co., MN.]
