Mrs. VAN WINKLE Dies In Hospital

BIRGHTON, Ia.--Mrs. Victoria VAN WINKLE, 88, died Monday night at Washington County hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday. She had been in failing health the last three years.

Mrs. VAN WINKLE was born in Jefferson county Jan. 15, 1871, and had spent most of her life in the Germanville community. She was the daughter of Oscar and Emma SWANSON LILLYBLADE. She was married Feb. 6, 1890, to Joshua VAN WINKLE who preceded her in death in 1945. She moved to Brighton in 1947.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Neil DUSENBERRY, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Hattie WELLINGTON, Brighton, and Mrs. Maude ACKLEY, Fairfield; four sons, Orval and Arthur, both of Brighton; Tilford of Des Moines and Waldo of Wayland; 18 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Anna BENSON of Arkansas; Mrs. Lizzie DILLY (sic - DILLEY), Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Eva BLACK, Fairfield; and one brother, Fred LILYBLADE (sic - LILLYBLADE) of Four Corners.

The body is at the Gould Funeral home at Brighton where arrangements are pending.
