MRS. LEM KAUFFMAN DIED SATURDAY.

Mrs. Lemuel KAUFFMAN died Saturday night at 10:20 o'clock at her home on North Court street after an illness of about four weeks. She was one of the most highly esteemed women of Fairfield and her death will be generally regretted.

Mary ULM-KAUFFMAN was born in Warren county Ohio May 2, 1863 and came to Iowa with her parents when but four years old. The family located on a farm about six miles north east of Fairfield where she lived until her marriage to Lemuel KAUFFMAN of this city on October 20, 1887. Four children were born to them, three of whom have preceeded (sic) their mother in death.

Mrs. KAUFFMAN had been in poor health for the past two years but became seriously ill about four weeks ago(.) She was a member of the Christain (sic) church of this city and a woman who had many friends. Mrs. KAUFFMAN is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mable; two sisters, Mrs. Francis ROTH of Portland, Oregon and Miss Anna ULM of this city and two brothers, J. W. ULM of Hill City Kansas and Edward ULM of this city.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Christain church. Interrment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mss. Lem KAUFFMAN Dead.

Mary ULM was born in Warren county, Ohio, May 2, 1863, and came to this county with her parents when but four years of age, October 20, 1887, she was married to Lem KAUFFMAN. To them were born four children, only one of whom survives. For the past two years she had been in poor health but for the last month she had been rapidly growing worse, and death occurred on Saturday night shortly after ten o'clock. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon and interment made in Evergreen cemetery. Besides her husband Mrs. KAUFFMAN is survived by one daughter Mabel, two sisters, Mrs. Francis ROTH of Portland, Oregon, and Miss Anna ULM of this city, and two brothers, Edward ULM of this city, and J. W. ULM of Hill City, Kansas.
