OCEAN GUDGELL PASSES AWAY

Had Been Ill Only Since Sunday Evening; Funeral Arrangements incomplete

Miss Ocean GUDGELL passed away this morning at 11:15 oclock at the home of her mother Mrs. John JACOBSON east of the city. She had only been ill since Sunday evening. Funeral services have not been definitely arranged but will be held some time Friday. Announcement will be made later.

Ocean Irene GUDGELL was born at Brighton March 13, 1909(.) Most of her life has been spent near Fairfield(.) She was a member of the freshman class of the city high school. Her mother, her step-father, one sister Hazel, and on (sic) foster sister Bertha, survive her.

Funeral services for Ocean GUDGELL will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 oclock from the Butler Funeral home, conducted by Rev. H. E. Butler, First Methodist circuit minister. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

LAST RITES FOR OCEAN GUDGELL

Held Yesterday Afternoon At 2:00 O'clock, Conducted By Rev. H. E. Butler

Funeral services for Ocean GUDGELL were held yesterday afternoon at 2 oclock from the Butler funeral home conducted by Rev. H. E. Butler, First Methodist circuit minister. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

The following men served as pall bearers: Henry Leu, Jessie Graber, Lavern Kyle, Edison Leu, Clifford Horton and Clayton Horton. Mrs. Edward Weston sang "Somewhere" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."

OBITUARY

OCEAN IRENE GUDGELL

Ocean Irene GUDGELL, daughter of Robert and Hattie GUDGELL was born at Brighton, Iowa, March 13, 1909, departed this life October 13, 1926, aged 17 years, 7 months. Her father departed this life thirteen years ago. She leaves to mourn her departure her mother, her stepfather and two sisters, Bertha and Hazel. Her home was with her mother at Parsonsville.

About five years ago she had to undergo an operation and never fully regained her strength. Sunday she attended Sunday school at Parsonsville church, she being a member of the Straightaway Sunday school class there. Friday she attended classes at the Fairfield High school and seemed to be in her usual health. She was a freshman in High school and highly esteemed by her classmates at High school and the Parsonsville Methodist Sunday school.

The funeral services were held at the Butler Funeral Home at 2 oclock Friday and were conducted by the Rev. Harvey E. Butler, pastor of the Fairfield M. E. circuit.
