DEATH OF MRS. GEORGE KAUFFMAN

It is our duty to record the death of Mrs. George KAUFFMAN, which occcurred at her home in this city Saturday evening, November 17th, 1888. She was born Esther SNOOK in Richland county, Ohio, March 6th, 1828. She was married to George KAUFFMAN June 11th, 1840, and in 1841 removed with her husband and her brother, John SNOOK, to Jefferson county, where they have since resided. For many years they lived on a farm, but for a year or more have made Fairfield their home. In 1842 Mrs. K. joined the Presbyterian church and has ever lived a consistent christian life worth of emulation. During her last hours when almost unable to talk she expresses her trust in her Savior and her close communion with him. She was a loving wife, a kind mother and a good neighbor, and those mourn her most sincerely who were best acquainted with her. The funeral took place from the Presbyterian church Sunday at 2 o'clock p.m., Dr. Magill conducting the services, and the remains were followed to their last resting place by a large number of relatives and friends.
