Jane WILKIN was born at Cincinnati, O., on July 4, 1839. When but a year old her father, John WILKIN, who was a Yorkshire Englishman, came with his family, settling on a farm two miles north of the present Lockridge. Jane's mother died when she was but a little child, and she was taken into the home of an aunt, Mrs. John HOPKIRK, until she was 13, when she went to her father and ever afterward was his housekeeper. In 1870 Jane with her father, and a younger sister, Beatrice, who afterwards became the wife of James SPECK, removed to a farm three miles east of Fairfield and in 1890 she and her father removed to Fairfield, her sister, Mrs. SPECK, having died....
