"Jefferson County Republican", Mar. 14, 1899, Pg. 4, Col. 4

Mrs. Jane HALL, who was taken from this city to the County Farm about a month ago, died Saturday morning from the effects of la gripp.... She was 73 years old, and had resided in this city over 40 years. During her month's stay she often remarked to those in attendance that she found the home so nice that she wished she had gone there earlier. She was without any relatives, we are informed. She was of Irish descent. The funeral was held today at 11:00 o'clock (sic) and the remains brought here for burial in the old cemetery.
