DEATH OF MISS LYDIA FEE. A former resident of Fairfield laid to rest in California. The "Star", published at St. Helena, Calif., of June 10th, brings an account of the deathof a former resident of this city that will be read with interest by many Fairfield people...
Miss Lydia FEE died at 12:45 o'clock Saturday morning June 4... Deceased was born in Henderson township, Huntingdon County, Pa., Nov. 22, 1829... She left the home of her birth in 1853 and took up her abode in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa, and remained there until 1873, when she moved to California, settling in Oakland, at which place she resided several years. About 12 years ago she came to St. Helena, residing for a time with her sister, Mrs. P. K. SHAMP, her brother, G. W. FEE, having charge of the SHAMP ranch between here and Calistoga... About nine years ago Mr. FEE purchased his present neat home on Madrona Avenue where he and his sister Lydia have resided in the enjoyment of each other's company ever since... Presbyterian Church. Deceased leaves five sisters, her twin sister, Mrs. Mary KNEPP of Chicago, Mrs. Rachel WRAY of Fairfield, Iowa, Mrs. Sarah BROWN of Nebr., Miss Fannie FEE of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. P. K. SHAMP of this valley; also three brothers, William FEE of Fairfield, Iowa, Capt. J. D. FEE of Pueblo, Colo., and George W. FEE of this place....
