MINER FOUND DEAD IN CABIN... On Black Creek, in Des Moines Township, almost at the southwest corner of the county. D. J. EVANS, 69 years old... Survived by a wife and daughter, Mrs. A. HORSEY, who resides in Washington, and one son also lives there. One son, Charles EVANS, lives south of Libertyville, and the funeral will be held from the home of the latter on Tuesday. Burial will be at Mr. Moriah (Van Buren County). Mr. EVANS was a member of Co. F, Third Iowa Cavalry.
(Soldier's Graves Registrations at courthouse show him buried in Evergreen, but no death date is given.)
