SOLDIER'S BURIAL. The Home Guard and our citizens generally turned out on Sunday last to escort the remains of Frederick A. BURKHART, of Co. D, 25th Iowa, to their last resting place.

Mr. BURKHART died in St. Louis on the 23d of March, and his remains reached here on Saturday. His body was escorted from the Depot to the Lutheran Church, by the Home Guard, where his funeral sermon was preached; from thence he was taken to the grave yard. His age was 23 years. Mr. BURKHART participated in the attack on Vicksburg, was at the taking of Arkansas Post, and was also engaged in several skirmishes.

"Sleep in peace with kindred ashes,
Of the noble and the true;
Hands that never failed their country,
Heart that baseness never knew."
