DEATH OF JOHN Q. SMOCK. (Bur. Evergreen) D. Friday last, aged 75 years. Born Nov. 30, 1811, in the state of Kentucky. He was of the old Dutch stock which settled New York City. His great-grandmother was the celebrated Anneke JANS from whom Trinity Church leased the real estate about Wall Street, which lies at the foundation of that religious corporation's vast possessions. He married his first wife, Miss Christiana WOODS, Dec. 20, 1832, by whom he had nine children. Six of these are now living. In 1849 he moved from Indiana to Marion County, this state, but in the fall of 1861 came to live in this city. Wife died Mar. 17, 1865, and four years later he married his present widow, then Mrs. Isabella COLLINS. Congr. Church. A man of sterling integrity and unaffected piety....
