J. Fred HINKHOUSE's Body Found Hanging

FAIRFIELD. -- Dr. J. Fred HINKHOUSE, about 63, for many years a member of the Parsons college faculty and retired since 1946, was found dead at his home this noon. Discovery of the body, hanging in the basement, was made by Mrs. HINKHOUSE, a Parsons faculty member, when she returned to the house from the college. Coroner Jack Raymond said it was suicide.

Dr. HINKHOUSE had been in ill health for some time but he and his wife were planning to go to Iowa City this fall for special work at the State University of Iowa.

Dr. HINKHOUSE was the son of Dr. and Mrs. J. F. HINKHOUSE, the father, too, having been a Parsons faculty member. Fred HINKHOUSE was a graduate of Parsons with the class of 1917 and served in World war I.

There are two children, Mrs. Margaret KILLIAM (sic - KILLIAN) of Michigan and James HINKHOUSE, living in Pennsylvania. Also two brothers, Paul and Elmer, and two sisters, one a resident of Denmark, in Europe, and Mrs. E. K. MAPES of Iowa City.
