MOTHER OF DR. HINKHOUSE DIES, IOWA CITY

Amy JUNKIN HINKHOUSE, 83, prominent Parsons college alumnae, passed away early this morning about 3 a.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Erwin K. MAPES, Iowa City, after having been in poor health the past year. She was seriously ill, however, only the past few days.

Funeral services will be held at the Beckman Funeral Home in Iowa City at 10 o'clock Thursday morning with interment in Wilton Junction.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Erwin K. MAPES, (Laura), Iowa City; Elmer D. of Wilton Junction; Paul M. of Orange, New Jersey; Fred J. of 303 W. Kirkwood St., and Mrs. Martin K. MAARBJERG (Gertrude), Copenhagen, Denmark. One brother, Paul S. JUNKIN the last of eight children, also survives, as do eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Dr. John F. HINKHOUSE, who pased (sic) away in 1933; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. JUNKIN. Her father was the founder of the Fairfield Daily Ledger.

She was born in Fairfield, Feb. 5, 1862, and was graduated from Parsons college with the class of 1883. Up to her last, her mind was alert and she remained continuously in contact with activities of the college and world affairs
