Page 6, Column 4Mrs. Leanna ECKERT Is Gone.
Leanna WISE, widow of the late James ECKERT, died at her home in this city Friday night, after an illness of three or four days. She was born in Lunenburg county, Va., was left an orphan at a tender age, and came to this county in 1849. A year later she was married to Mr. ECKERT, who passed away several years ago. Three children survive the parents - Mrs. W. H. YOUNG and James ECKERT of this city and Mrs. E. W. CRAINE of Missouri Valley. Mrs. Eliza ECKERT (sic. Ann Eliza WISE ECKERT) of this city, a sister, is the only survivor of a family of ten children. Mrs. ECKERT had resided in Fairfield continuously for more than half a century and had a wide acquaintance among its people. She was a life long member of the Presbyterian church and an estimable christian woman. Her death will be regretted in a wide circle of friends. Funeral services were held Monday, Rev. Alex. Corkey having charge of them.
