Mrs. Samuel SALTS was stricken with apoplexy at her home near Brookville yesterday morning about 7 o'clock and died perhaps two hours later. She suffered a like attack October 16th, 1905, and her condition since that time has been considered critical, although she had recovered her health in some degree. Mrs. SALTS' maiden name was Annie P. SHAMP, she was a native of Jefferson county and was forty-eight years old. She had been married three times and has four children living, Joseph HIBBS, Harry HUDGEL of Valley Junction and Frank and Mabel HUDGEL of this county. She became the wife of Mr. SALTS July 30th, 1900. Mrs. SALTS had lived in this city for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother, a kindly neighbor and a sympathetic friend, and her life record was one of sacrificefor those who were near and dear to her. There are many friends in Fairfield who will sincerely mourn her death. The body will be interred in this city, with funeral services at the Free Methodist church Thursday morning at 11 o'clock.

ANNA PRUDENCE SHAMP,
was born Jan. 21, 1858 at Wooster, Jefferson county, Iowa, passed away at her home near Brookville May 8, 1906, being in her forty-ninth year. She had been married three time (sic) and to her first husband, Joe HIBBS (Apr. 24, 1874), one child was born to them, Joe W. HIBBS who resides in Winslow, Arkansas. March 18, 1880, she was united in marriage to John P. HUDGELL, who died Dec. 14, 1895. There were born to them four children, William E., who died in infancy; Harry M., who resides at Valley Junction, Iowa; Frank D. and Mabel P., of this county.On July 30, 1900, she was united in marriage to Samuel SALTS, who survives her. Mrs. SALTS suffered an attack of appoplexy (sic) in the fall of 1905 from which she never fully recovered, and it was a second attack that broght (sic) her to her sudden death last Tuesday morning. The report of her death came to her many friends as a sad blow. She formerly was a resident of Fairfield and had many warm and sincere friends who mourn her sudden departure from this life. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a kind neighbor and a sympathetic friend, and her life record was one of sacrifice for those who were near and dear to her.
The funeral was held Thursday morning in this city at the Free Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Louis Mendenhall of this city. A large concourse of sympathizing friends attended the last sad rites and she was quietly laid away in the silent grave yard. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in this their sad bereavement.

Anna Prudence SHAMP was born January 21st, 1858, at Wooster, Jefferson county, Iowa, and died May 8th, 1906, at her home near Brookville. She was united in marriage with Joe HIBBS April 24th, 1874. One child was born of this union, Joe W. HIBBS, who resides at Winslow, Ark. March 18th, 1880, she was united in marriage with Joseph P. HUDGELL, who died December 14th, 1895. There were four children born to this union -- William E., who died in infancy, Harry M., who resides at Valley Junction, Frank A. and Mabel P. of this county. July 30th, 1900, she was married to Samuel SALTS, who survives her. Mrs. SALTS was a woman of many excellences. She united with the Christian church in 1880 and had since lived a life consistent with its teachings. Funeral services were held at the Free Methodist church, this city, Thursday morning at 11 o'clock. They were conducted by Rev. Lewis Mendenhall. All members of the family were present, as well as many friends from city and country.
