Long-time Resident Had Been Ill For A Year; Was 76 Years of AgeWilliam E. TRAIL, 604 South Second street, died at ten o'clock his morning after an illness of almost a year. He had been critically ill for two weeks.
Mr. TRAIL was a farmer all of his life until he retired six years ago, spending most of his life on a farm near Veo, which he owned at the time of his death.
He is survived by his widow and six children: Mrs. T. C. WHITTINGTON, Mrs. Otis ANDERSON, W. L. TRAIL, Mrs. Bessie DAY, Mrs. Art McINTIRE and Mrs. Charles BAKER, all of the city, except the latter who lives eight miles north.
William E. TRAIL was born February 16, 1852, in Maryland state. He came to this county at the age of five years and on May 2, 1878, was married to Amanda Ellen BRAY. On next Sunday he would have celebrated his 48th wedding anniversary. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge for over thirty-five years.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Christian church in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.
