Many friends in this county will be pained to learn of the death of Mrs. M. F. VANCE, wife of our deputy sheriff, in this city Monday morning. Death came suddenly, and the bride of less than one short year is now lying in the cold ground. The condolence of a wide circle of friends in this community is expressed for the bereaved husband and relatives.

Admin. note: Mary gave birth to a son, Mell, on January 20, 1879; mother and son died the same day and are buried in adjoining lots at Upper Richwood Cemetery. Husband Millard Fillmore VANCE (1854-1955) moved to Akron, CO, and is buried there with his third wife, Helen.
