Joseph SNOOK died at his home in Salina Sept. 29. Leaves wife and three married daughters: Mrs. ACKLEY of Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. HOAGLAND of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. DUNLAP of Rome. Remains laid to rest by the side of a little son who died in infancy, in the old cemetery at Fairfield. He was born in Penn. May 9, 1825, came to Iowa about 1846, and was married Jan. 23, 1847.

The remains of Joseph SNOOK, who died at Salina Saturday, were interred in this city Sunday. Deceased was nearly seventy years of age, and had resided in this county since 1840. For a number of years past he had been the mail carrier between Glendale and Salina.

(Note: He appears to have been a son of Peter SNOOK Jr. (1777-1851) and Mary ABER.)
