... --Word has been received here that Mr. and Mrs. Fred GREBER, formerly of 415 N. Main, have entered the Casa Del Nursing Home at 1325 Everett Street, Lakewood, Colo., 80215. The GREBERs had been living in an apartment near their daughter, Emelie at Wheat Ridge, Colo., until recently when Mrs. GREBER fell. Although she was not injured in the fall, Mr. GREBER injured his back in helping her to get up. They will be glad to hear from their many friends in Fairfield.

Fred GREBER Rites Tuesday

Fred GREBER, 84, longtime resident of Fairfield, died Saturday evening at the Casa Del nursing home in Lakewood, Colo. He suffered a stroke Friday.

Last rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilson Hyde officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

GREBER was born July 27, 1885 at Germanville, the son of Jacob and Jane GREBER. He was married to Nellie KYLE March 1, 1919.

He farmed north of Fairfield for a number of years and later owned and operated a hotel here. He also operated a butcher shop at one time on the north side of the Fairfield square.

GREBER is survived by his widow, who is also a resident of the Lakewood home; and one daughter, Emelie GREBER, Wheat Ridge, Colo. One brother and one sister are deceased.

GREBER was a member Knights of Pythias Lodge and the First United Presbyterian Church

Admin note: Buried in Lot 2nd.016½ with his second wife Nellie KYLE GREBER. His first wife was Esther Amanda SWANSON GREBER who died in 1917, and is buried nearby in Lot 2nd.052.
