Mrs. A.U. Walker Dies This Morning
Resident of City for Number of Years Is Taken By Death

Mrs. A.U. Walker passed away at her home east of town early this morning at three o'clock, following an illness of seven months, the past 13 weeks of which she had been bedfast all the time. In her long illness she was most patient and all that was possible to do for her was done.

Mrs. Walker had been a resident of this place for the past seven years, having come here following her marriage to Mr. Walker, from her former home in the vicinity of Glasgow.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Fred Watkins, two step-daughters Ruth Walker of this city and Mrs. Waunita Barton of Burlington and one step-son, Everett Walker of Oklahoma City, Okla. There are also five grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Martha Litton and Mrs. Frank Metcalf of Lockridge; Mrs. Josephine Garrison of Excelia, Mo.; Mrs. Emaline Chezum, Crow Agency, Mont; Mrs. Arminta Lawrence of this city; Frank Smith of Stockport and Charles and George Smith of Lockridge.

- Mr. and Mrs. Frank Metcalf and sister, Mrs. Tom Litton spent Sunday
afternoon in Mt. Pleasant at the home of their sister, Mrs. Lucy Walker, who is very low at this writing. Mrs. Metcalf stayed until Monday.

- Mrs. Lucy Walker passed away at her home in Mt. Pleasant Wednesday morning after a long illness. Funeral arrangements have not been made as yet.

- Mrs. N.O. Elliott, Mrs. Chester Elliott, Mrs. Ella Barton, Mrs. Jay Barton and mother, Mrs. Fred McElwee attended the funeral of Mrs. Lucy Walker in Mt. Pleasant last Friday afternoon.

[Lucy was my great grandaunt]
