Death of Evan T. HARDIN at his home near Cambridge, Neb., June 15, 1888, in the 65th year of his age. Former citizen of Fairfield and has relatives here -- George CRAINE and others. He was a citizen here as early as 1844, and enlisted in this place for the Mexican War, but the regiment was not taken out of the state. He was a soldier in the 29th Iowa Vol. Inf. Reg. and served until the close of the war... About a year ago he visited Fairfield and said then it would be his last visit. He was one of a family of ten children, and only one of them now remains.
