DOUGLAS Rites To Be Tuesday

Private funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Jane DOUGLAS, 50 E. Adams, who passed away early Sunday morning at the Jefferson county hospital.

The services will be held at the Weston Behner funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Edward M. Esler officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The casket will not be open.

Mrs. Mary Jane DOUGLAS, 80, was born March 21, 1881, in Van Buren county, the daughter of Phillip and Laura SWOPE WEBBER. She was united in marriage to Samuel C. DOUGLAS on Feb. 15, 1900, at Birmingham.

The couple moved to Fairfield soon after their marriage and he was employed by the Iowa Electric company for over 30 years before his retirement. He passed away Sept. 14, 1951. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, Eastern Star and White Shrine.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lucille MORRISON, Dubuque; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother, John A. WEBBER, Fairfield; and two sisters, Mrs. O. S. WALLACE, Jefferson City, Mo., and Mrs. H. H. McCLELLAND, Des Moines.

Mrs. DOUGLAS was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and a sister.
