MRS. DONOVAN IS DEAD TODAY
Old Resident of Jefferson County Succumbed to a Heart Attack

Mrs. S. A. DONOVAN, who all her life has made Jefferson County her home, passed away at 7:15 oclock this morning at her home at 205 North Sixth street. She is survived by husband and four children, one child having preceded her mother in death. They are Art, Guy and Ed and Mrs. Gus MULLENIX, all of this city.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the First Methodist church.

OBITUARY

MRS. S. A. DONOVAN.

Matilda E. KNERR, daughter of Valentine and Mary KNERR, was born September 17, 1857 in this county three miles south of Brighton and passed away here at her home on January 8, at 7:15 a.m. at the age of 65 years, 3 months and twenty-two days.

She was united in marriage with Simpson A. DONOVAN on September 6, 1877, and to this union there were born five children: Carrie Ann passed away November 25, 1889 at the age of four years. The living are Wm. Arthur, Edwin R., Guy 7. (sic - Guy S.), and Mrs. Gus MULLENIX of Fairfield. Besides her husband and threse children there are five grandchildren, also two brothers and three sisters, which are Mrs. J. B. DEY; Mrs. Alfred WHISTLER, both of Brighton, Mrs. George WHISTLER of Mt. Pleasant, Mr. George KNERR of Brighton and Mr. Wm. KNERR of Chariton, Iowa.

She united with the First Methodist Episcopal church here during the pastorate of Dr. Thorn in 1888 or 1889, and had remained a member of this church until death claimed her.

The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the First Methodist Episcopal church, Dr. C. L. Tennant, the pastor in charge.

Death of Mrs. DONOVAN.

Mrs. S. A. DONOVAN died at her home on North Sixth street Monday after a protracted illness. She had been a resident of this county all her life. Her husband and four children survive The children, all of whom live in Fairfield, are Art, Guy, Ed and Mrs. Gus MULLENIX. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist church.
