CHARLES E. FLIGG DIED THIS MORNING
Had Been In Failing Health For Eighteen Months---Funeral Tomorrow

Charles E. FLIGG, father of Edward G. FLIGG, died early this morning at the Mt. Pleasant hospital after an illness of about a week (note: in Henry Co., IA). He had been there for treatment since March and apparently was recovering until last Tuesday when he took a turn for the worse. He had been in failing health for eighteen months.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Christian church at 3:30 oclock and will be conducted by Dr. C. L. Tennant. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. FLIGG was sixty-four years old and had lived in Jefferson county all his life. He is survived by the widow and five children, James H. FLIGG of Lexington, Mass.; Edward G. FLIGG, of Fairfield, Mrs. nellie BOUGHREN (sic - BOUGHNER) of Jefferson county, Mrs. Nellie MAXWELL of Davenport and Mrs. Bonnie BASHAM of Fairfield. His father, George W. FLIGG, died recently at Boyr Ore.

OBITUARY

CHARLES E. FLIGG

Charles E. FLIGG was born February 22, 1860 in Jefferson county, Iowa. He was the son of George W. and Mary F. FLIGG, both deceased. The father having died the 19 of last month, at the age of 89 years.

He was married to Nancy I. HENDERSON, July 12, 1887. To this union were born seven children, two having preceded him in death. The wife and following children survive him: James H. of Lexington, Mass.; Edward G., Mrs. Sam BOUGHUER (sic), Mrs. J. T. BASHAM of Fairfield and Mrs. Lester MAXWELL of Davenport, Iowa, and sixteen grandchilrren (sic) and one great-grandson. Also one brother and four sisters located in Oregon.

He was baptized in the United Brethren Faith at Concordia, Kansas in 1880. He was a member of the Ellis Hose company for sixteen years until his age retired him and his body was carried to its last resting place by six members who served with him.

He was an employee of the late Joseph Ricksher in the butter and egg business for thirty years and later resided on a farm southeast of town until his late illness,. (sic) He has been in poor health for the past two years and death came as a relief June 13, at the Mt. Pleasant hospital, to the sorrow of his loved ones and many friends.
