George W. Fligg died May 19 at his home at Endersby, Oregon. Interment there. Born September 10 1833 in Morgan Co., Ill., son of John and Martha Fligg, natives of England.
At the age of 10 he with his parents came to Iowa; married Mary Frances Gregory, October 10 1855. Forty years of his life spent in Fairfield, Iowa. In 1886 went to Omaha, Neb., and lived there two years.
Then in 1888 he with his wife and daughter Mary went to Oregon where their daughter Cora was living. He took up a homestead which he increased by purchase of 80 acres.
He was postmaster at Endersby which was named after his son-in-law Wm. Endersby, until it was discontinued...
Wife died May 22 1908, since which time his daughter, Mrs. L. H. McDonald has lived with him...12 children, only six now living: Mrs. Geo. W. Covert, Mrs. L. H. McDonald, Mrs. Wm. Endersby, Mrs. Mary Dickson of Endersby, Allen H. of Dallas, and Chas. of Fairfield; 28 grandchildren, 41 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild...
