Page 8, Column 1C. W. BAILEY Dies Suddenly
Clarence W. BAILEY, 59, Fairfield building contractor and carpenter, died Friday 10:55 p.m. at his home at 102 E. Madison. He had been in failing health for six months.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Kenneth Johnson and the Rev. E. Wayne Ryan. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
BAILEY was born Feb. 5, 1907 at Tamalis, Calif., son of William and Ada HUFF (sic - HOUGH) BAILEY. Nearly all of his life was spent in this community. He was married to Irene LEE Sept. 18, 1933.
Surviving are his widow and two sons: William E. BAILEY, Des Moines; and Harold E. BAILEY, Fairfield. Also surviving are the following sisters: Mrs. Harvey NICHOLS (sic - NICHOLAS), Waterloo; Mrs. Jay HOWARD, Mrs. Escoe MESSER and Mrs. Harold HARRISON, all of Fairfield; Mrs. Perry COUCH, Ashland, Neb.; and Mrs. J. R. JONES, Birmingham.
One sister and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Transcriber's note: Mr. Clarence BAILEYs mother's maiden name was cited as Ada Brown HOUGH in LEDGER, Thursday January 26 1933, 8-4 & LEDGER, Wednesday July 27 1949, 8-3. His sister, Mrs. Harvey NICHOLS' married last name was cited as "NICHOLAS" in LEDGER, Wednesday July 27 1949, 8-3.
