JAMES BAILEY DIED AT 3 P. M.

James BAILEY died this afternoon at 3 oclock at his home 206 East Lowe street. He was stricken about 9 weeks ago with serious heart trouble and a complication of diseases and since that time has grown steadily worse.

JAMES BAILEY FUNERAL TODAY

The funeral services for the late James B. Bailey, who died at his home, 206 East Lowe street Saturday afternoon at 3 oclock, were held this afternoon at the M. E. church in charge of Dr. C. L. Tennent. Interment was made in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. BAILEY was born in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania in 1855 and came with his father, the late Alexander BAILEY in 1871 and since then has resided here. He engaged in building and contracting, which he followed until last year when failing health caused him to retire from active business. Mr. BAILEY was married to Miss Emma BLOOMFIELD in 1879 who preceded him in death ten years ago. He married Mrs. Minnie REDFERN in 1917 who with children by his first wife survive: Clifford, William, McKinley and Mrs. Clarence BATES of Fairfield, Ralph of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Oliver CARLSON of St. Louis, Mrs. Marion FISHBURN of Mountain Grove and Mrs. George ANDERSON of Fairfield.

OBITUARY

JAMES BOGGS BAILEY

James Boggs BAILEY, oldest son of Alexander J. and Sarah J. BAILEY, was born August 14th, 1855 on a farm in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, near Manorville. At the age of thirteen he moved with his parents to Iowa, locating on a farm near Winchester. In 1875 the family moved to Fairfield, where Mr. BAILEY spent the remainder of his life.

On June 20th, 1877, he was united in marriage to Emma H. BLOOMFIELD who passed away March 4th, 1916. To this union were born ten children: Alta M. and Ada B., who died in October, 1889; William A., Clifford, McKinley, Mrs. Clarence BATES and Mrs. George ANDERSON of near this city; Ralph D. of Henryette Oklahoma, Mrs. Marion FISHBURN, Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Mrs. Oliver CARLSON of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by one sister Miss Mollie BAILEY of this city and one brother J. W. BAILEY of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Two brothers, Alexander and John C., preceding him in death. Mr. BAILEY also leaves twenty-seven grandchildren.

On September 27th, 1917, he was married to Mrs. Minnie M. REDFERN of Chicago who is left to mourn his passing.

In 1907 Mr. BAILEY united with the First Methodist Episcopal church of this city to which he remained a member until death claimed him.

Mr. BAILEY was a prominent carpenter contractor and has probably done more toward the improvement of the city in the erection of beautiful homes than any other one individual.

Funeral services were held from the First M. E. church June 9th, and interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
